A little bit of hope

In which I hope I can rhyme a few lines.

Bob Hope at a USO show

I was tempted to begin by deliberately antagonizing the nerdosphere and wishing them all “live long and prosper”. Today though is a day to rival even Darth Khaaaaaaan and not even James T. Skywalker could save use, even with the Millennium Enterprise.

To try and cheer myself up I can only hope that things will only get better so I thought it best to write down what I am hoping for.

In fact I’m going for the style of writing I have the most problem with. Poetry. Well actually what I have wrote is a semi-poem, although it fails on the main criteria of not rhyming. And if I know anything about poetry it’s that:

If it don’t homonym

It’s not a poem-a-nim.

Anyways, let’s talk about Hope.

Hope is the feeling you get when things are bad.

Hope is wanting things to be better but not doing anything about it.

Hope has forsaken these lands.

Hope is never having to deal with the present.

Hope gets you up in the morning.

Hope let’s you fall to sleep at night.

Hope got them to Earth.

Hope is a way of extorting stupid people.

Hope is what Barack promised me.

Hope is the expectation that something will happen.

Hope is the feeling before the inevitable disappoint.

Hope is a lie we tell ourselves to stop the pain.

Hope hides the tears.

Hope starts you smiling again.

Hope only fulfils itself in the movies.

Hope is that things will only get better.

Hope keeps you believing it won’t get worse.

Hope is good for the soul.

Ah, so you worked out the riddle. You just needed to use dwarfish and the doors to Geek Ergo Sum opened. Or perhaps you just used Google. Either way you are here, on my little corner of the Internet.
