Destiny or fate

In which the book of life gets a low rating on Amazon.

Row of books on a billy bookcase

What would you do if you had a book that contained your life? Within the pages was everything you ever did and would ever do, it was a complete record of your fleeting existence documenting the minutiae of your involvement with the human race.

Would you read it? Could you be cavalier enough to dive into Chapter 40 and find out what would happen in 2018 or would you protect yourself from the spoilers Sweetie?

Actually the choice has already been made.

If there was a document detailing all your life’s moment then one of them will have to have been whether you open and read the book. It will have been determined by the syntax and paragraphs within, and you will have not been able to do otherwise.

The only time you still have the possibility of having control is before you open it, before you read the Schrödinger’s Tome. While the covers are closed you are still both going to read the book and not read the book, as soon as you start flicking through the pages you cannot change your fate.

Not that you could, for if it is written then so it will be. Your have no free will, fate will determine what you do. With your life already planned out you would just be on a ride with the safety bar down as you experience you existence in the same manner as It’s s Small World.

If you could read a book containing all that has happened and will ever happen in your life, would you? If you choose to read it, you must read it cover to cover.  Thanks for the great idea, Tom!

Ah, so you worked out the riddle. You just needed to use dwarfish and the doors to Geek Ergo Sum opened. Or perhaps you just used Google. Either way you are here, on my little corner of the Internet.
