Movie and mine taglines

In which I sum up in one strapline.

Bolshoi Ballet Theatre

The current tagline to this blog is “There are 10 types of people that understand binary” and I think this is quite apt for this site. Either you are going to understand what is going on here or it’s completely beyond your comprehension. It’s a bit better than the old one which was “No rounded rectangles” but then I decided that there is geometrically no such thing and if there is anything I strive for it’s Euclidean accuracy.

What though would be my tagline, the marketing message that would draw people to come and see me? How could I sum myself up in just a few words that would be both accurate and entertaining?

My first inspiration was some of the more famous movie taglines that could apply to my life(play along, find the answers at the end):

“The longer you wait, the harder it gets”
“Trapped in time. Surrounded by evil. Low on gas.”
“The True story of a real fake”
“One man’s struggle to take it easy”
“An adventure 65 million years in the making”
“You’ll laugh. You’ll cry. You’ll hurl”

Or the obvious:

These do a good job of summarising a few hours-worth of movie but do these accurately depict the entirety of my life? Can we really be summed up with just a few words, or are we a bit more complex than that. Are we really the best person to come up with our headline, would we not over inflate our own egos with a description that doesn’t reflect reality. Perhaps those best positioned to give us a subtitle are those around us. These would be without bias, so I’m going to ask the people around me for a short tagline.

I say ask, what I’m really going to do is write what I think they would say, mainly to inflate my own ego.

  • Small but perfectly formed
  • You’ll be amazed, a-maz-ed
  • If his life was a movie it would be a pretty good movie
  • Like The Hobbit, but with less walking
  • In an office everyone can hear you scream, so please keep it down
  • I get knocked down, I get up again, but I’m in a considerable amount of pain
  • Lists, rants, cricket

Feel free to add your own below.

Ah, so you worked out the riddle. You just needed to use dwarfish and the doors to Geek Ergo Sum opened. Or perhaps you just used Google. Either way you are here, on my little corner of the Internet.
